Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah serial has stood the test of time, seeing that it now has reruns of the popular show that started being broadcasted since 2015. With a big production house Neela Tele Films Private Limited behind them – they are still going strong and entertaining as ever. It seems like winning ten Indian Telly Awards is not enough to make them comfortable.
This show is very funny and religious, one wonders how they consistently manage to put a funny spin on religion while embracing it to its fullness. The show is basically rooted in the Indian community, including residents from Gujarati. The characters are your typical natives that go through normal situations the average South Indian faces in
their daily life- that are easy to identify with. The actors have been embodying the characters for so long since the show aired in 2008, it is hard to distinguish their acting from real life, it is almost like portraying the characters of the serial is second nature to them- as they are seen enacting the funny situational scenes filled with humorous mischief. They have succeeded in keeping people glued to their television screens ever since.
